We have wanted to modernise our freezer workshop for years and make room for the steady flow of repairs. We handle numerous freezers every day, and this has taken a toll on our facilities. On top of that, regulatory requirements are becoming more stringent.
Challenging requests
Whereas the biggest challenge was our request for sub-level lifts, we also needed better light and ventilation, repositioned wash basins and much more.
The work began in June with emptying of the rooms. Next, we needed to form holes in the concrete for the three new lifts – the solid concrete required a lot of work. We then installed new ventilation, electricity and plumbing, treated the floors and painted the walls and moved back in. We still need to put the final touches to the workshop, but we are ready for the next bulk of freezers.
